Licensing

‘At Lisle Licensing, we believe that for great brands to succeed, it is essential to have expert knowledge and market intelligence in all areas.’

Licensing is the process in which the brand owner (Licensor) of an Intellectual Property (IP) grants another party (Licensee) the right to use the IP in conjunction with a product, service or promotion.

This is the technical principle of licensing. At Lisle we like to add a bit more heart. We work with great brands we believe in, getting fully submersed and then introducing our brands to a like-minded licensee. When both the licensor and the licensee are happy, we know that ultimately the customer will be too.

We create customised brand plans for the brands we work with, and specific marketing and activation plans for when a licensed merchandise range is ready to launch; ensuring we’re reaching all the relevant distribution channels and retailers, with the right product at the right time.

Our core market is the UK, but we’re just as comfortable working internationally, managing brands across many different categories of licensing and across the globe.

Marketing &Activation

We work with our brands and licensees to develop pre-launch and teaser campaigns. We generate excitement and build momentum with targeted PR content. We work closely with retail category buyers to ensure they have the most up to date information on the brand, and we work with licensees on sales, POS materials and in-store/online activation events.

We then do a full, post-launch review compiling photos, social media commentary and SKU analysis, in conjunction with the licensee, ready for review with the brand.

Lisle Licensing as a business is now in our 11th year of operating, but we’re underpinned by decades of industry and retail experience. This gives us firm foundations and an abundance of relevant market context, which is essential to evolve and adapt in today’s fluid business arena.

Over his 50-year career, Colin has successfully brought many Licensed and Non-Licensed brands to market. Having also owned a leading International Sales & Marketing agency his network, across many categories, is extensive.

Francesca has previously worked for Dolci Preziosi in Spain on licensed confectionery lines for brands such as Disney & WWE, & then in the International Sales team for Santoro who are in the gift & greetings category. Francesca was a founding Director of Lisle licensing along with Colin in 2010 & in 2020 she became the Managing Director of the business.

AAT qualified and with 20 years' experience, Rebecca is our esteemed Management Accountant. With an exceptional head for numbers, she makes sure your royalties are paid on time, in-full and down to the penny.

Debbie has worked for two of the traditional top-4 grocers and studied business and retail at Loughborough University. She is passionate about the customer and is fully-skilled in what is required to turn a brand concept into a commercial reality.
